Attorney General’s Ministry Gets Support for Good Governance Legislation Efforts
It was a contentious issue for the teachers and public service unions, and now there may be some progress. Today, Attorney General Magali Marin Young, with support from the United Nations Development Programme, signed an agreement for the implementation of good governance legislation. The U.N.D.P. will finance the hiring of an international legal expert to assist the Attorney General’s Ministry with the development of a Civil Asset Recovery and Unexplained Wealth Order legal framework, including primary and subsidiary laws. This is in keeping with the government’s commitment to fulfilling the obligations under the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
