“We have a number of initiatives that we are working on.  We are working with the community to try to stem the violence.  We are working in unison with the Behavior Modification Center, with the Department of Youth Services, with the mediator from both the Department of Youth Service and the mediator from the police department.  We’re also looking at social development as a crime prevention method and so we have a number of initiatives that we have in place at the present moment.”

“This is only one several neighborhoods that has seen an unrest in recent days, is there any other neighborhood that you plan to go into to try to see how you could address the concerns of the residents there?”

Dr. Richard Rosado

“Yes, like I mentioned, the residents are one of the most important stakeholders and we must do all efforts to improve the system of collaboration with the residents in the area.  I believe that by having them, communicating with them, talking to them, listen to their concern, it will help us to improve our professional outlook and it will also help us to improve and police the area.”
