Murdered Man’s Family Trying to Get his Remains for Burial

David Castillo

The family of David Castillo is frustrated that five days after his remains were found, they are still unable to bury their loved one.  Castillo went missing on the night of August twelfth after he left a fast food shop, located just a short distance from his house on Faber’s Road.  His remains were found this past Sunday off the George Price Highway, near mile four. Castillo had been shot to death. Castillo’s nephew, Phillip Ramsey told News Five today that they were given a tentative date, but when the date was changed, no one contacted them to say so. They are trying to plan his funeral.

Voice of: Phillip Ramsey, Nephew of Deceased

“We are really frustrated because it was in a decomposed state. So we are trying to figure out when the autopsy will be done and if there’s any autopsy to be done, why has it not been done?   It was scheduled for Friday afternoon tentatively because of the decomposed state, Now Friday came – and I understand what tentatively means – however, if they’re going to change it, there should be some form of communication.  But there is no communication whatsoever and it is getting frustrating. That’s what’s frustrating, uncertainty.”

News Five contacted the police who told us post-mortems are scheduled by the National Forensic Science Service and not by the police department. We were also informed that currently there are at least a dozen pending autopsy. Those which were involved in a crime will not be released until the autopsy is completed.
