Virtual Presentation of Credentials by New Ambassadors

Five new ambassadors to Belize presented their credentials to Governor General Froyla T’zalam during a virtual ceremony today.  All non-resident ambassadors, they are Lina Eugenia Ajoy Rojas of Costa Rica; Mehmet Erkan Aytun of the Republic of Turkey;  Doctor Maureen Piribonemi Tamuno of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Paisan Rupanichkij of the Kingdom of Thailand; and Ricarda Redeker of Germany. The Governor General welcomed the ambassadors and expressed her hope they would meet in person this September at the Annual Diplomatic Week hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration.  The ambassadors each conveyed on behalf of their respective countries the intention of cooperating with Belize in several areas of priority, which include conservation, human rights, climate change, and equitable healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic.
