Missing Swimmer’s Body Found in Sibun
There was a sad ending to the missing person report from Sunday as the lifeless body of twenty-two-year-old Carlos Guerra was found floating in the Sibun River behind Franks Eddy Village this afternoon. He reportedly went swimming at the Camino Del Rio Area in Belmopan on Sunday evening, but went underwater and never resurfaced. A rescue operation involving Coast Guard was launched on Monday. Today, just after midday, his lifeless body was discovered several miles away from where he initially disappeared.

“We know that on the first of August, that was Sunday, sometime after 5:30 p.m., Mr. Guerra was with his common-law and family in the Dark Knight area of Frank’s Eddy Village. They are saying, what they have told police so far is that he entered the river somewhere around the bridge area and he was walking towards them when he was swept away the current in the river. They contacted police right away and the search was initiated by them and later joined by coast guard personnel and up to now they are still out there.”
