Public Service Union Celebrates 99 Years
The Public Service Union is celebrating its ninety-ninth anniversary. The P.S.U.’s President Dean Flowers and First Vice President Annisa Gomez appeared on Channel Five’s Open Your Eyes this morning.
Annisa Gonzalez, 1st Vice President, P.S.U.
“I am overwhelmed to be in the union first of all, very proud to be in the public service union. Those are some of the words that we want to carry forward. Even for public officers, and our public service union members, to understand the overwhelming feeling of being a part of a trade union. Back in 1922, who would have said that we would be here ninety-nine years now?”
Dean Flowers, President, P.S.U.
“We cannot deny that in recent past that relevance has been diminished for whatever reason, and that is a challenge that we are now faced with to make sure we are relevant in the national scheme of things. That our focus and our role expands beyond looking after public officers but ensuring that in the national context that we influence policies that ultimately come back to impact on public officers.”
