Basketball Players Fund Raising for Las Vegas Draft Combine

The Orange Court Generals need your help to get to Las Vegas for a basketball pro camp.  There, the athletes will show off their skills to basketball coaches and scouting teams from across the world for a shot at getting recruited.  But to get that opportunity, they need the funds to purchase their tickets to depart Belize on August eleventh.  Lead organizer, Coach Rodvell Gladden tells us more about why they need your help.

Rodvell Gladden, Coach, Orange Court Generals

“We are taking a team to Las Vegas to participate in a draft combine. These are twelve guys from Belize.”

Andrea Polanco

“What’s a draft combine?”

“A draft combine is something whereby the guys go and show the different abilities that they have in basketball. And with that said, all coaches from all over the world will be there and scouts and some of the NBA and G League will be there too so these guys have to show up so that probably one of them can get picked for one of these teamsThese guys are somewhere between nineteen to twenty-five; they are all or mostly NEBL players at this momentAt this moment we are asking that the Belizean public help us in raising funds to go; to get our tickets.”

Andrea Polanco

“How much are you guys looking at right now that you need to travel?”

Rodvell Gladden

“Right now we are looking at twelve thousand five hundred dollars because it is twelve of us to pay for our flight, basically only flight because our rooms and food are covered once we reach there.”

To assist the O.C.G.s to get to Las Vegas, you can contact Gladden directly at 615-7200 or email address guanatail19@gmail.com or you can support their barbecue fundraiser on Antelope Street Extension on Saturday, July seventeenth.
