Brother Says Family Awaiting Post-Mortem in Spain’s Death
Forty-six-year old Michael Spain, better known as Brown, was discovered dead inside his house just after eight o’clock this morning in Georgeville. His brother went to the house to make checks after they hadn’t seen him in two days and that’s when he found him dead. David McDougall says his brother’s body appeared to be in the early stages of decomposition and that he observed what appeared to be abrasions on the face. He tells News Five that he hopes the authority investigates the matter while they await the results of the post-mortem.
David McDougall, Brother of the Deceased
“I break down the door and I went in and observed my brother lying down back way with his face, I would call it burst up and it had swelling.”
Andrea Polanco
“So, he seemed to have had some injuries?”
David McDougall
“Yes he seemed to have some injuries. And then PC Smith called the scenes of crime and they said they didn’t see any sign of foul play and then we put him in the body bag and they transported him to Belize City. All I am asking the police is to do a proper investigation because I really want to know what happened to Brown; if he died from sickness then I have no problem but if somebody killed him then I want to know.”
Andrea Polanco
“And do you suspect foul play any at all?”
David McDougall
“Well, I can’t say if I suspect foul play but what I noticed was that the front door was locked from inside and the side window was open.”
Andrea Polanco
“Did you notice or see if his house was ransacked? Anything seemed out of order?”
David McDougall
“No, ma’am nothing was ransacked; everything was in order. The police was trying to find his ID but we didn’t find his wallet.”
Andrea Polanco
“And he would usually have a wallet with him?”
David McDougall
“Yes he usually has his wallet because he would usually go to the western union and suh.”
Spain was a caretaker for a property for a man who resides in the U.S.A. According to the family, he was well-known in the village as he would be drinking with friends and didn’t have enemies.
