Help Treat Baby Jayden

A family from the Pomona Valley is asking for the public’s help to get treatment for their infant. Nine-month-old Jayden Nicholas Chacon has been diagnosed with a condition known as hemangiomas.  The child’s mother began noticing a change in the child’s face at four months old.  Over the past five months, the benign tumor has taken over the entire left side of the baby’s head, preventing him from seeing out of his left eye. The family says they were told his condition is treatable through surgery or laser treatment.  Today, we spoke to Jayden’s grandmother, Mirna Tzul.

“I have friends out there praying for baby Jayden to get better. It is not easy. It is very hard to see him suffering. I try, I cry out already to people who can help us. Cause it really hurts trying to do anything for the baby, just watching that growing and growing. It already affected his eyes. His ears, and right now it is affecting his neck. Two days back, my daughter told me the baby is giving trouble for breast feeding. So, I just ask God, mek someone out there help me with a medication with the baby, or with a doctor that say they could do the treatment for him.  So far when I talk to a doctor in Guatemala, he spoke to me and told me roughly, it is about thirty five thousand quetzal. That is not including my doctor’s lodging and food, not included. So we are waiting for that response.   He was about four months old when I saw the hemangiomas growing. My daughter told me, mommy the baby face is growing. So, I work, my husband work. So, I am here to support my daughter. So, I told her you know what I need to seek medical for the baby. I have two kids already. No one knows my story but I work very hard, my husband. I have two babies diagnosed with cerebral palsy. So it is very hard for me, so when I see the condition of the baby I said Lord that makes it three.”
