Tattoos Helped Father Identify Son’s Remains

The burnt remains found on a farm in Esperanza Village last week were identified on Tuesday as that of missing fireman Peter Luis Jones.  His grieving father, Peter Jones Senior, told News Five today how he was able to recognize his son.

“We did an autopsy in Burrell Boom, and when they scrape the body, I witnessed by son from the tattoos he had on his face.   It was very very sad, but you know I had to go and witness the autopsy to make sure that it was my son right.”

“Does this bring some closure to you and your family now, knowing this is your son?”

“Yes, it definitely brings closure to us, because that is what we wanted to know so that we could have a proper burial for him.”

“How do you piece to puzzle together, in terms of what happened to your son?”

On the Phone: Peter Jones Sr.

“Well, he never had problems with no one. We never had beef with nobody. So, I cannot really say what happened. But, like I say we dah nuh wan family weh have enemy with anyone. He works at the fire station. He does buy and sell. His wife had baby about a week ago. And he went missing. That is about it. But we never had enemy with anyone to say that someone would do something like this to him. But obviously now somebody probably had to have responsibility for this.”

“Do you now trust the police to do a thorough investigation?”

“Yes, yes, we leave everything in the hands of the police and the Almighty Father. The Lord says, vengeance is mine says the lord, so.”
