Film Commissioner says Belizean Setting Creates Advertising Opportunities

Nigel Miguel

In the world of film-making, there’s a thrill that accompanies the whole line “Lights, cameras, action!” but Film Commissioner, Nigel Miguel says he has been able to land an interesting marriage of filming and scientific research. It should, if Belize is lucky, bring us some international exposure about the types of fauna that offer medicinal healing found in Belize. We caught up with Miguel and the crew at Black Orchid Resort, where they shot their first ad today.

Nigel Miguel, Film Commissioner

“My business partner, Herb Dogan has brought a company in, Stemregen (short for stem cells regeneration), which is a lifestyle enhancement product and they’ve come to Belize to film a commercial but also to talk about the benefits of the products and how it can help the country and the community. There are a couple of reasons why they chose to come to Belize as opposed to just the natural beauty. They’re also looking at this as a distribution location. It’s also a place where the plants that’s used in the products are produced here.  So, there are multiple reasons why they are here. As far as marketing the product, we have a gentleman by the name of Chris Spencer who is a well-known figure in front of the camera, but he’s even a bigger behind the scenes. He’s a writer for the Oscars. He is actually a host of several BET projects.”
