What’s Up With Cessna Plane that Landed at P.G.I.A.?

Chester Williams

An unusual activity occurred last week when a Cessna plane piloted by two Mexicans was given clearance to land at the Philip Goldson International Airport. The plane was purportedly brought to the country for sale to a Belizean. But that didn’t happen; in fact, the suspicious activity led to intervention from the police and civil aviation departments.  Today, ComPol Chester Williams explains that the matter is currently being dealt with by personnel from civil aviation.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police

“The plane came into the country and the plane did get clearance through the Civil Aviation Authority. According to those persons who brought it in, it came in to be sold to some Belizean. Nonetheless, a check done by civil aviation revealed that certain documentation as it relates to the registration of the plane was not accurate and based on that it gave rise to some suspicion.  We got together, police civil aviation and conducted a search on the plane in the presence of the two persons who came in, purported to be pilots to take the plane back to Mexico. That search yielded nothing and so at this time, the matter is in the hands of Civil Aviation.”
