B.H.A. Prez Calls on Unions & G.O.B. to Resolve Impasse

Ted Tejada

The B.H.A. President Ted Tejada is appealing to both government and the unions to return to the discussion table to resolve the impasse, because it threatens to further cripple the economy and the country, which is already in a fragile state.

Ted Tejada, President, Belize Hotel Association

“The country is in financial problems right now and that comes with some challenges. We are now hearing that the unions are not in agreement with the government. The government needs to find some type of how do we merge this because COVID-19 has damaged the economy of this country. That is what we as hoteliers are coming to government and saying we need to find a solution to this problem because what COVID-19 has done to us, what we will see if there is an impasse and the services of the country are limited because the nurses are not going to be working or they are blocking the highway or whatever; that is just going to cripple the tourism industry going forward.”
