Some people have resisted getting vaccinated and the numbers are not as high as expected. But while the vaccination is not mandatory, the Ministry of Health and Wellness is encouraging those within all phases to get their shot as an added layer of protection against COVID-19. Maternal and Child Health Technical Advisor, Doctor Natalia Largaespada Beer says that up to April twelfth, close to thirty thousand persons have been inoculated.

Dr. Natalia Largaespada Beer, Maternal & Child Health Technical Advisor, M.O.H.W.

“We have a total of twenty-nine thousand four hundred and eighty-two persons vaccinated, receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. If you look at it, it is about almost a thousand per day average of persons that are accessing vaccines. We would like for it to go faster because we do have some constraints with staff. It would be nice to get all those who have pending to come out as early as possible.”
