Motorcyclist killed on George Price Highway

A man was knocked down and killed off his motorcycle on Monday night. Police say that Wilson Gonzalez of Camalote was hit by a driver who was overtaking on the George Price Highway around six-thirty that evening. He suffered massive head and body injuries and died on the scene. Here’s more from the police:

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

ACP Joseph Myvett

“Roaring Creek Police responded to a road traffic accident scene near Belmopan where they observed a red in color ford escape with extensive damage to its front portion and a short distance away they observed a green motorcycle with extensive damages and a male person later identified as Wilson Gonzalez was also seen apparently motionless on the right hand side of the highway when heading east. What police have learnt so far is that the Ford Escape was being driven by  Dani Palacio of Roaring Creek and she told police that she was west bound in the area and was in the process of overtaking a vehicle going in the same direction as her when she collided into the motorcycle rider who was riding in the opposite direction. She has since been detained pending this investigation and it is expected that charges may be proffered against her later today.”
