Former Health Minister Not Impressed with New Administration

Pablo Marin

During the municipal elections, former Minister of Health Pablo Marin came out in support of Hilberto Campos, the U.D.P. standard bearer for the Corozal Bay division. Campos replaced him following his November eleventh defeat in the general elections. News Five caught up with Marin at polling area number forty-one, where he gave his review of the P.U.P.’s first hundred days in office as it relates to health.

Pablo Marin, Former Minister of Health

“I can say it freely; when the U.D.P. came into power, nobody was fired and worst in health because you have to get advice from all those technical people. So you have to work and see if they will work with you or not work with you. But not cripple a system that is really needed in a country. And when you start to say that you are bringing down cases, we are happy if that is happening, but are you doing the right thing? Is your rapid test hundred percent proven? And in November, our numbers were lower of deaths that when they came in and now you are saying it is better in your way?”
