Corozal Center for Employment Training officially opens

The Prime Minister Said Musa visited the Corozal Center for Employment Training as part of a tour of Corozal on Wednesday. He officially opened the school which has been operating since November. Corozal C.E.T. offers courses in a number of areas from small engine repair to food preparation and catering. Manager Margarita Gomez says the programs offered are based on the economic and job market needs of the district. So far the Corozal C.E.T. has an enrollment of over one hundred students, including some at the primary school level. The Prime Minister also stopped by the Libertad Roman Catholic School where he examined the improvements including a new two-story building and library, a joint effort of the community, Rotary and Raleigh International agencies. The Prime Minister spoke about the proposed National Health Insurance plan, telling the teachers and parents gathered that he expects the contribution of working people to be about two to three dollars at most. The Prime Minister handed over a new computer to the school as part of government’s commitment to enable all schools and libraries to have access to a computer. Computer donations were also made to Libertad Seventh Day Adventist School, Louisville Roman Catholic School and San Narciso Roman Catholic School.
