“This Da No The Best Is Yet To Come!”

Eamon Courtenay

Senator for Government Business, Eamon Courtenay responded to Peyrefitte’s criticisms of the motion by reminding the senators on the other side that the motion places on House and Senate record the covenants of the P.U.P. government.  Courtenay explains that through the motions, the elected area representatives can be held accountable.

“The purpose behind this motion is to put on record in the House of Representatives and the Senate the intention of the People’s United Party to implement the good governance agenda that it adopted by a resolution of the National Party Council that found its way in our manifesto Plan Belize and which was endorsed fifty eight point eight percent of the electorate on the eleventh November 2020. This is not the best is yet to come. I don’t understand why the other side has a difficulty in holding the People’s United Party representatives to these covenants. Is it that they can’t hold themselves to these covenants. This Madam President, members of the senate, is a step in the direction.”
