Ingrid Vega Speaks on Her Husband’s Death
Ingrid Vega was intubated on December twelfth, one day after her husband, newly elected area representative of Corozal Bay David ‘Dido’ Vega, died. Forty-seven-year-old Dido was intubated about a week before he died from COVID-19 complications. It was a tough time for the Vega family and one that Ingrid has still not come to terms with. Ingrid says that she saw her husband shortly after being hospitalized, but she was intubated when he was buried, and so she didn’t get to say her last goodbyes or properly mourn him. Ingrid shared more about how she is coping with the tragedy.
Ingrid Vega, Wife of David Vega
“I asked myself what happened and sometimes I question why. I don’t question God. I have built so much faith and I don’t question God about why he took my husband. I believe he has a plan for everyone. I remember that my plan was to come back – before I was intubated I remember asking him to give me a chance to come back to my girls. So, going back to the elections to what happened, it was a big hit. I wasn’t even present at my husband’s funeral. My daughter was the one telling me about what happened at the funeral. As is, I am not even on Facebook right now because I am not ready to see the funeral, to see the post of him because I am still dedicated on recovering. I know that grieving would delay my recovery. I remember going to see my husband and telling him that I can’t grieve him right now because I have to get back to my girls. I shed couple tears and I went back in and ready. So I haven’t grieved him yet because I am still in recovery. It is going to be a while. It is a day-to-day, slowly, we are getting there.”
