Minister Hyde Names Former MoW C.E.O. Errol Gentle in Land Scam

Minister Hyde then spoke of another incident of clear land fraud. According to Hyde, the victim this time was a man named Florencio Talbert, and the alleged perpetrator was the former C.E.O. of the Ministry of Works, Errol Gentle.  Hyde told the House that Gentle reportedly acquired lands in the Mountain Pine Ridge area in Talbert’s name.  The problem was that Talbert had no idea! And when he went to investigate, he found out that the land, which was under his name, was sold to Gentle.

“There is also another case of a man Florencio Talbert, a tall gentleman of modest means who worked as a mechanic for nine years at the ministry of works compound in Santa Elena. A tall fellow, six feet four, has a lot of height but not much cash. High in height but not in cash. Unbeknownst to Mister Florencio is that he owned acres upon acres in Mountain Pine Ridge. He owned the land but didn’t know. Applied for the land but didn’t know. Purchase the land from the government but didn’t know. Florencio Talbert says that he was very good friend with the then Ministry of Works CEO Errol Gentle or so he thought. Gentle had asked for his social security guard a few times but he was never told exactly why. Talbert says Errol Gentle even went to his house one day for h is social security guard but according to Talbert he didn’t question anything because he use to work as Gentle bodyguard also. So one day last year an enterprising gentleman goes to Florencio do you know that you own some of the prime real estate in th si country. Florencio of course says no. So the man convinced Florencio to give him power of attorney so he can acquire the lands from him. So they go to the Lands Department together only to find that one year earlier in 2019 the lands that were in Florencio Talbert name was transferred to Errol Gentle and to a company name Scorpio Development Company owned by Rene Montero two sons, Rene Junior and Robert Montero. All this happened and Florencio Talbert never knew.”
