P.S.U. Says Kudos to Ministers who Don’t Need New Vehicles

Dean Flowers

While the P.S.U. applauds those ministers who have agreed not to get a new government vehicle assigned to them, the union is also asking that they follow the recommendations that have been put forward in respect of vehicle maintenance, since the annual cost of upkeep is approximately thirty million dollars annually.

Dean Flowers, 1st Vice President, P.S.U.

“I want to express sincere gratitude to those recently appointed ministers who have expressed openly and I hope honestly that they would be fine with not being issued a government vehicle.  As I stated earlier in the interview, collectively, we’re at a position where maintenance and fuel is concerned, it’s hovering over thirty million dollars collectively and so it is important that we get cooperation from those at the top and that means that they are provided as recommended in our cost savings report an allowance for fuel but that where vehicle is concerned they are either given an advance to purchase a vehicle, but more so for the maintenance and the bulk of the expense that comes with having a vehicle, that is reduced.”
