PM Briceño Honors Rt. Hon. George Price

And to close the news we leave you with one of the first acts by John Briceño, just before he was sworn in as Prime Minister in Belmopan today, he stopped by the resting place of former Prime Minister Right Honorable George Price at the Lord Ridge Cemetery to pay respects. Briceño laid a wreath on Price’s tomb, honouring him on the occasion of Remembrance Day which was commemorated on Wednesday. It was a short ceremony during which he thanked Price and his father for instilling important values in him.

Prime Minister John Briceño

“My father thought me about what it is about hard work. He thought me what it is to love this country. He was the one who thought me that we must count our blessings of what we have but that what we have we must share with others especially the unfortunate and the poor. And I give tribute to my father for that. He thought me about discipline and this optimism and belief that tomorrow is going to be a better day. It is fitting to be here now at the Father of the Nation’s grave to pay tribute to him but at the same time for us to be here symbolically accept this teachings and what he stands for and that the People’s United Party is about service to the people, that the people must come first and I tell my colleagues and I say it publicly that as long as we keep that in mind, as long as the decision that we make that we make will be because we are serving the people and finding ways to improve their lives and make it better, we are going to be a good government, a government that the people rightly deserve.”
