Wanted Fugitive Jadiel Rojas is Busted in San Ignacio

Jadiel Rojas

Forty-four-year-old American National Jadiel Rojas and his sixteen-year-old son were detained by San Ignacio police on Wednesday night.  Rojas, who has been residing in Belize illegally, is wanted by U.S. authorities for the alleged kidnapping of a child.  Upon reviewing their passports, the Immigration and Nationality Department found that both father and son did not possess legal documents to remain in the country.  The teenage minor was handed over to the Ministry of Human Development while his father remains in detention pending an extradition hearing.  An online yielded information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which states that Rojas was last seen in Phoenix, Arizona on June tenth, 2018.  The circumstances described by the site indicates that the teenage minor was abducted by his non-custodial father.  The boy’s mother, according to the site, has applied for his return to the United States under the Hague Treaty.
