ComPol Condemns Leaked Video; Says Video has ‘No Credence’

On Wednesday night, the video of recaptured inmate Christopher Bradley went viral on Facebook. In the video, Bradley confessed that trustee Carlos Montejo was the mastermind behind the breakout and he also implicated prison guards in what happened on Monday when the group of twenty-eight fled the prison in wake of a lockdown.  Today, Commissioner Chester Williams condemned the leaked video and told the press that the recordings were not made and published by police officers. He says that it is a serious action that is being looked at internally. As to the content of the video – Williams says he doesn’t give any credence to it considering that the Bradley may have been under duress.

“I don’t even know if I should address that despicable video. From an investigative standpoint, that video has no credence. How will you ask a man who you may have guns pointed at him, severely under duress, if he is giving an interview voluntarily? I don’t know. We are not going to give any credence to that video. Again, these are things that the media need to be very careful of. Often times, members of the security forces leak thing to the media that is not for public consumption and the media recognize that it is not for public consumption but yet they put it out in the public – for what? I think we need to do better. I can tell you that the video was not taken by police. We are, however, looking at it from a national security standpoint to get to the bottom of it because what transpired there was very unprofessional, unethical and should be condemned to its fullest.”
