Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services

“You have COVID-19 assigned areas. For example Karl Heusner is very clear saying the COVID unit that is ventilation and stuff is used. They have a specific unit, six beds and you can move into different areas. As you move along you start using areas along the A and E that had been specifically assigned to a maximum for example of twenty. We have never had so many at Karl Heusner. We had ten confirmed cases max and four, five patients classified as persons under investigation that they are waiting for their results. Orange Walk was the maximum bed that they could have used was twelve at any given point in time. They had nine going into the week. Corozal beds that they had was eight. They had five patients that were hospitalized. You follow those flags you move along. When you start to look at Orange Walk more than Karl Heusner and Corozal starting to see those numbers start to go up then you have to be start looking at what is going to be your plan B, your plan C. We looked at activating the area in Belmopan. We had put in the plans somewhere that if you have patients; there is spill over of patients look for where you are going to put them.”
