Chester Says Big Tom Should Remain in Prison Forever

Kenneth "Big Tom" Flowers

On Wednesday, Kenneth “Big Tom” Flowers appeared in court to answer for forcing a woman to perform oral sex on a man. He was charged with “procuring defilement of a person by threat” for which he pleaded not guilty. He was denied bail and remanded until December third. During his arraignment, Flowers told the senior magistrate that his constitutional rights are being violated. Because of the nature of the offense, and the S.O.E. in place, Commissioner Chester Williams had to act quickly and arrest Flowers under the S.O.E.  Flowers said that the prosecutors took extremely long to have him arraigned. The magistrate told Flowers that he must take the matter up with his attorney. Meanwhile, Williams says if he would have it his way, Flowers would be behind bars for life.

“I guess the world saw the activity that Big Tom was involved in and I don’t think anyone in their right mind is going to sympathize with him at this time. He knows exactly what he got into when he force by way of threat two individual to perform some sexual act.  That is no small crime that he had committed and as I said before when the incident initially happened the witnesses were unwilling to cooperate due to the fact of who Big Tom in and so what we did under the SOE is to send him t prison while the investigators continue to investigate with a view to gather evidence on him that we can charge. So the time that he was in prison we were able to do some work, gather the relevant evidence against him and so the charges were made against him and he appeared before the court I think on Tuesday. He has since pleaded not guilty and the court rightfully remained him into custody. He should remain in prison forever as far as I am concerned.”
