P.U.P.: House is Dissolved, U.D.P. Hustling Must Stop!

The People’s United Party today issued a release on the state of affairs as it relates to the government. It follows on the heels of a release by the government to the effect that they retain executive powers. According to the P.U.P., the National Assembly is now dissolved and the U.D.P. ministers continue in office until November eleventh, 2020, but only as caretakers so that no major decisions should be taken and no contracts should be entered into during this period.  The P.U.P. says it has information that the current government intends to award Imer Hernandez another bloated contract of fifty million dollars for the construction of a new Haulover Bridge and one for a section of the Caracol Road. The P.U.P. explains that because Parliament is dissolved, there are no House Committees, no debate on the awarding of these contracts and therefore no oversight by public institutions.  There is also information that six Assistant Comptrollers at the Customs Department will be appointed and interviews for these positions are scheduled with the Public Service Commission for next week Wednesday and Thursday. The P.U.P. says that when it forms government it will immediately review all contracts issued without oversight, applicable regulations and guidelines and will move to cancel them. The P.U.P. also warns that all lucrative contracts issued to political cronies at the eleventh hour, extending their services well into the term of a new administration, will be terminated to end the fleecing of the public coffers.
