Over 400 Persons Registered with the Welcome Resource Center
According to Administrator Joyce Ellis, over four hundred plus persons are registered with the Welcome Resource Center and access the facility at the corner of Tibruce and Vernon Streets in Belize City. On a daily basis, the men and women who visit the centre are provided with a plate of food and can take care of their personal hygiene.
Joyce Ellis, Administrator, Welcome Resource Center
“On daily basis, we have between thirty to thirty-five coming, but due to the COVID-19 right now, our numbers are between twenty-five and thirty, which is manageable because we do have the space. However, if anyone comes and we already have that twenty-five or thirty persons, they still walk away with the food and they manage to take a shower, but they cannot stay because of social distancing and safety.”
