Minor Shot in Orange Walk. Was He the Intended Target?

In Orange Walk, a fifteen-year-old boy was shot on Sunday night. Police say that Victor Pott was walking in Trial Farm Village with another person when a vehicle drove past him and fired shots in his direction. He was hit once in the leg. Police say that it is unclear who the intended target of the shooting was. Here’s more from ACP Joseph Myvett of the National Crimes Investigation Branch.

“Orange Walk Police responded to a shooting incident in East San Martin Area in Trial Farm Village where upon arrival they were directed to the northern regional hospital where they met and spoke with one Victor Pott, a fifteen-year-old, who reported to police that himself and another friend were walking in the East San Martin area when they were approached by a male person who produced a firearm and fired several shots in their direction one of which caught Pott in his left leg. He has since been treated and released from the hospital. The suspect is now in police custody pending charges.”
