F.F.B. Executive Doesn’t Recognize Decision
So what bearing, if any, does the chairperson’s singular decision have on the operations of the F.F.B.? According to Chuc, it is business as usual in Belmopan until and unless FIFA’s lawyers say otherwise. The decision, he says, is not recognized by the federation since the others who comprise the Electoral Appeals Committee did not participate in that review process with Willoughby.
Sergio Chuc, President, F.F.B.
“I think the only way how the executive would have respected that is if it would have come with an attachment with the rest of judges, if you want to call them that, committee members and there would be a majority saying that this is the way how the committee ruled. But if it is coming from one person, it has no basis. Let me wait and see what the attorneys at FIFA are going to advise, but from our point at the federation that doesn’t mean anything to us. We continue with business as usual today. If the other committee members would have signed on to it then I think it would have been something that we have to respect because we’ve come a long way here at the F.F.B. to improve the image and to make it a respectable organization.”
