Families of Deceased B.D.F. Airmen a Step Closer to Compensation

The families of the four deceased airmen have been experiencing difficulties with compensation following the deaths of their loved ones.  In a previous interview with the Attorney General, he had informed that at least two of the families had received compensation from government.  That turned out not to have been the cases as there were legal and administrative hurdles that their next of kin encountered during the process.  This evening, C.E.O. Enriquez said that those hurdles have been crossed and that full compensation for the families of Ramirez, Baizar, Mendez and Choc is finally near completion.

“It seems that we’re wrapping up with that.  I know that it was in play at the Treasury [Department] last week.  They requested some additional information which they were provided with and it was just a final bit of information and now that we have provided them with that, I believe they have what they need and then that will go through the normal process that government does.  They have provided the treasury with the grant of administration and other things that they would have required then it shouldn’t be long before the families are compensated.”
