Who is the Owner of Good Lee Limited?

During the sitting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Cayo South Area Representative Julius Espat revealed that the prime minister’s son is reportedly involved in an offshore company that has ties to Brad’s company. That company is Good Lee Limited and Espat’s assertion is that Good Lee owns majority shares in Brad’s Company. Espat questioned whether Anwar Barrow has hidden shares in Brad’s through Good Lee which is registered in Saint Lucia. Espat brought up several alleged transactions made to companies in Belize and questioned the Prime Minister about it.  Today, Caribbean Shores Area Representative Kareem Musa told News Five that the law requires that the beneficial owner of Good Lee provide fingerprints to prove that that is the case. He says that the Prime Minister as the Minister of Finance should know who the owner of Good Lee is.

“It is what the Belizean people have known all along but know we have evidence Hipolito whereby shell companies were established, all of them coming out of Prudential Corporation. Right there in my constituency on Blue Marlin, Buttonwood Bay Boulevard. That is where Prudential has it offices. And everything, all the companies that have been receiving funds from Brads, from boledo have been incorporated by this corporation and have been receiving large sums of money. We are talking millions of dollars. My big concern when it comes to Good Li limited, this is the company that holds majority shares in Brads Gaming Company Limited, my big concern when it comes to Good Lee is the fact that the lotteries legislation in Belize requires and this is the law Hipolito, that each and every beneficial owner, not legal owner, beneficial owner must provide their fingerprints to prove that they are the beneficiary owners of the company. So my question to Mister Barrow and to the Lotteries Commission, we want to see whose fingerprints was given on behalf of Good Lee Limited? Was is nominee shareholders or did you get fingerprints of anybody at all? Because what that would mean is that for the last ten years if they did not get those fingerprints, that company Brads was operating illegality and not in compliance with the legislation.”

Hipolito Novelo

“He says that he doesn’t know who the shareholders are because he doesn’t sit on the Lotteries Committee.”

“He is the Minister of Finance. So you have the Prime Minister at the very top when it comes to the Lotteries Commission so don’t let him fool you by saying he does not know this or he does not know that. That is all a distraction. That is a red herring that he doesn’t get his hands involve in that and the reason for that is because his son is involved in Brads. That is a fact that he now cannot escape.”
