Brad’s Boledo Contract Spurs Heated Debate Again

Then there was a bombshell in the House. The ten-year contract for Boledo, Fantasy Five and the Sunday Lottery Draw that was awarded to Brad’s a few weeks ago, was once again the subject of a heated debated in the house.  Cayo South Area Representative Julius Espat revived the issue today when he asked openly about the prime minister’s son’s involvement in an offshore concern that may be tied to Brad’s company.  In his presentation during the adjournment, Espat referred to Anwar Barrow as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air since he was barred from calling him by name in parliament. Espat also wanted to know about Good Lee Limited who owns the majority shares in the Boledo company.

“Following the paper trail.  We would like to know, Madame Speaker, what is the relationship between the Prince of Bel-Air and Quick Stop Personal Finance Center Ltd.  We would also like to know what is the relationship between the Prince of Bel-Air and Creative Content Ltd.  We want to know what is the relationship between the Prince of Bel-Air and Prudential Management Firm.  Possible answers, Madame Speaker, on these questions could be that there is a relationship.”

Laura Tucker-Longsworth, Speaker of the House

“I don‘t understand where you‘re going with this presentation.”

Julius Espat

“There are two options.  There can be absolutely no relationship, and if that‘s the case, the prime minister can confirm.  If there is no relationship, that‘s fine.”

“I‘m very sorry.  This Brads contract went to the Contractor General after going through a full process by the Lotteries Committee, it was dealt with here and there was that, as far as I am concerned, that matter is concluded.  How are you going to be using…  In fact, Madame Speaker, I did my duty in terms of bringing the report to the house of the certification of the Contractor General.  This is outrageous to revive that and then to be asking questions about shareholders.  How would I know?  I was not part of the tenders committee and I am not working at the Contractor General’s Office.”
