Cops Seeking Four Persons in Connection with Stabbing of Belize City Businessman

A Belize City shop owner was stabbed in the wee hours of this morning while he was socializing with four others. Police say that sixty-year-old Alfonso Ayuso was hanging out and drinking with persons he knew when two of the men suddenly turned on him to rob him.  While they didn’t manage to rob the place, they stabbed Ayuso before they got away.  Here’s more from the police about this incident.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Alfonso Ayuso, sixty years, reported that he was hanging out with two male persons and two females at his store at number Four First Street Belize City when at some point two of the male persons attacked him and demanded money from him. One of the male persons inflicted stab wounds to his face and chest. Thereafter, Ayuso pulled out his licensed nine millimeter pistol and fired a shot towards them and they fled from the area. Police are seeking four persons in connection to this report.”
