BDF Commander Comments on PC Ical

After six days of being lost in the jungles of Southern Belize, P.C. Bernard Ical returned to post in good health. The police officer went missing last week Wednesday and found his way back to the Machaquila outpost on Monday. This is after a massive search party was launched for the officer. According to Ical, it was the helicopter that guided him back to the outpost. But questions about his disappearance have risen. According to Ical, he lost track of the B.D.F. soldiers while on patrol. And that is where there is a disconnect between Ical’s testimony and the reports given by the soldiers. According to the reports leaked to News Five, the soldiers are claiming that Ical went missing while they were packing for the patrol.

“One thing with the BDF, we will never leave a man behind so from that aspect I am not sure. But because we have not had a detailed discussion with PC Ical as yet we are not sure what happened exactly. As you know the police gave him some time off so we are waiting until he comes back to work before we can have a discussion as to what really happened out there. We’ve had police officers who left our patrols before. They just come to the commander and say they are leaving and we radio that in, that’s it. The police department is informed that such and such police officer left the patrol, could they give us a call when he shows up. Something in that manner.”

“Are you able to say in terms of what your soldiers have said, when was the last time they saw PC Ical around them? “

“It was the Wednesday morning.”

“I believe from their report, they are saying that they were packing and they saw him again.”

“That’s right but like I said we want to compare both sides so that we can find out what are the exact facts but we can’t do that until PC Ical comes back to work.”
