Henry Charles Usher to Succeed Said Musa

The Fort George Executive is to meet tonight regarding Said Musa’s successor. No convention will be held and it is expected that the Party’s chairman Henry Charles Usher will be nominated to represent the P.U.P. in the division whenever the national elections are called. Usher has been working the division along with Musa for more than ten years.

“He was not forced out. There were no shenanigans or plotting or whatever it is to try to get Mister Musa out. Mister Musa is an elderly statesman in the party and highly respected and highly loved across the length and breadth of this country not only from the PUP but from Belizeans on a whole. The chairman of the party is Henry Charles Usher who has been working in the division probably more than twelve, thirteen years now full time along with Mister Musa. All indications are that the executive for Fort George is going to nominate Henry Charles Usher to be the next candidate of Fort George. After that meeting they will then send a formal letter to the National Executive I think it is next week Wednesday. We will have that discussion and then we will discuss the recommendations from Fort George of accepting their nomination to have Henry Charles Usher as the next standard bearer for the Fort George Division.”

“I have to say that Henry Usher the chairman of the People’s United Party has put in incredible ground work in the division not just as chairman of the party but as chairman of the constituency and so I would be very surprise if the committee went with anybody else. So it is very like that the person that they choose will be Henry Charles.”
