Jumoke Castro released from the government service effective September 7, 2020

Jumoke Castro

Ministerial son, Jumoke Castro, has been released from government services. The Public Service Commission had been deliberating for some time, the matter of Castro. Earlier this year in January, Jumoke posted ugly threats against the wife of Pastor Wade from Plus T.V. The post did not find favour in the public domain and Jumoke was suspended temporarily from the Belize Tax Service. But after condemning the threats, the Public Service Union jumped in defence of Jumoke saying that his suspension was irregular since the threats were made when young Castro was not on duty. Additionally, the P.S.U. called on the Ministry to show which section of the P.S.U. regulations Castro had breached. The matter landed at the Public Service Commission which has now decided to terminate Castro effective September seventh. It is also known that Castro was continuously absent at work at the Belize Tax Services. A memo circulated by the Tax Services says he can no longer carry out any work on behalf of the department.
