Hurricane Watch Declared from Belize City to Southern Belize
Tropical Storm Nana is expected to strengthen into a hurricane within hours and make landfall along the coast sometime between midnight and six on Thursday morning. There is a hurricane watch from Belize City to southern Belize along the border with Guatemala. Residents have been preparing for the expected hurricane which is predicted to move across after midnight with hurricane winds between seventy-four and ninety-five miles per hour. This afternoon, Belize City was on phase three, which are two red flags and a black dot in the centre flying behind the Supreme Court. The flags indicate that the hurricane is likely to strike within twenty-hour hours and this is what it looks like. The curfew due to the pandemic is still in place for nine o’clock, but activity on the streets has wound now as residents brace for the storm either at home or in shelters. Tonight, we will have full coverage of TS Nana here in the city and in the south.
