Abbott Rapid Tests to be Used at P.G.I.A.

Dean Barrow

As of November twenty-second, Delta Airlines will resume flights to Belize.  According to PM Barrow, the use of the Abbott Rapid Test should simplify the process of verifying one’s health status upon arrival in the country.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“Delta, that had earlier asked for September third, even before we made a decision that we couldn’t go September third, they’re having, I suppose like all other airlines, but they’re having pronounced problems and I’ve just seen where they’ve announced cutting back on domestic and international flights.  In that context, they have said that they will not come until November twenty-second, I believe it is now.  But that’s a good enough start.  American five days a week, United seven days a week as of October first and within six weeks or so thereafter Delta will be coming directly from Atlanta.  We’re not yet sure how many flights per week.  Now barring a hurricane, there is no way that opening date should change and here’s why.  By that time the Abbott Rapid Test that I earlier spoke about should be in plentiful supply, certainly in the U.S. our great source market.  So American tourists and Belizeans coming back from the States should have no trouble bringing back an Abbott test with them.  This thing is so portable, I don’t want for them to test in the States and bring us results of their fifteen minute Abbott test you know, I want them to bring the test and have the test administered right there at the airport so we can see.  There won’t be any logistical problems because this is fifteen minutes and you’re good to go.”

So the long awaited reopening of the P.G.I.A. is on October first.
