Julius Espat Says Elrington’s Remarks Hypocritical

Julius Espat

As Elrington concluded his rant against his party and the government, Cayo South Area Representative Julius Espat brought it to Elrington’s attention that after three terms in office, Elrington failed along with his party. Espat described the Foreign Minister’s remarks as hypocrisy at its highest.

Julius Espat, Area Representative, Cayo South

“Talk is cheap. Madam Speaker this gentleman the member from Pickstock sat in Cabinet for ht entire twelve years for his party’s government, had all the power in his hand to make a difference, to invest, to do everything he is saying right now madam Speaker and the time when he decides not to run he is becoming sanctimonious. Hypocrisy, madam speaker, at its highest. Ridiculous, madam speaker; everything he said should have been implement in 2008. They had money in the bank, they had power, they had access to millions and millions and dollars Petrocaribe being one which is around seven hundred million dollars and counting. They borrow in the billions. He was in cabinet Madam Speaker, one of the most powerful ministers of the U.D.P. government coming out from the south side.   I see how the Prime Minister gave the man a little cut eye because I would have been pissed off two. I would have been defienlty be pissed off Mister Prime Minister for make the make to talk to you in that way when he was in Cabinet. He was there, collective agreement. Every decision that is made there he has to subscribe to it or he would have been able to walk out as a honourable man. Now he is trying to play G1. Ridiculous Madam Speaker. We should not tolerate this. The people of Belize have to look through this facade. It is a facade. It is hypocrisy at its highest.”
