Hilberto Romero

A U.S. retiree was injured in a home invasion in San Pedro over the weekend. Reports are that seventy-five-year-old John Wallace was at home in the San Pablo area on Saturday afternoon when around three-thirty, a Hispanic man entered his house. A struggle ensued and Wallace was cut multiple times to the hands and body with a knife.  The burglar then tied up the elderly man before escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash from a safe. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero says that police are looking for a suspect.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“He was at home with his front door open when he was approached by a Hispanic person who pulled out a firearm and demanded money. Thereafter, they went into the house and the Hispanic male person pulled a knife from the kitchen and a struggle ensued between the assailant and the complainant at which point the complainant was injured to his hands and body with the knife. He received cut wounds. Thereafter the male person managed to subdue the complainant, tied him up with an electrical cord and thereafter stole an undisclosed amount of cash that was in a safe in the house. We are seeking one suspect in regards to this investigation.”
