Jenkins and his son were in this white Acura car, here in front of this house in Calcutta Village when two gunmen on a motorcycle appeared.  Unbeknownst to Jenkins who had his window down; the gunmen quickly inched their way close to Jenkins and released a barrage of bullets. “My baby said that a little while after two gunmen came on a cycle and started to shoot at his daddy. When he saw his daddy in blood and when his daddy fell on top of him he jumped through the window of the car. The people saw him and thought that he got hurt but thank God he didn’t get hurt.  One of my cousin called me and told me that I must go to Calcutta because my husband just got shot so I hurry took my bike and I went to Calcutta. When I went to get my baby the girl who had my baby told me that they just shot my husband and they took him to the hospital. So I catch I taxi and went to the hospital. When I went to the hospital my husband already had died. In the emergency room I saw him. He was already dead. I told him to wake up to come back but he didn’t answer me.  I asked my baby if he didn’t see or something and he said no because two of them had on helmets and face masks and they were suited down. So he could see them or anything because they had on shades too. He couldn’t see who it was. He said that it was two of them on a red and black dirt bike.”

The killers then sped off leaving Jenkins to bleed to death and his son crying in agony, having witnessed the murder of his father.

Jenkins was at his Carolina Village home when he decided to leave to buy fruits with his son. According to his common law wife, Christine Sanker, it was then when he received a phone call which led him to the spot where he was executed.
