P.U.P. Wants Answers for the Awarding of Boledo Contract to Brads Gaming

Government announced on that it was awarding Brads Gaming Company another ten year contract for the administration of the lottery. That company, everyone knows, maintains a close relationship with a number of members of cabinet so the fact that they got the new contract was not exactly breaking news but except for the approval there have been no further details on the contract. The Opposition Party has written to the Minister of State, Tracy Taegar-Panton who is responsible for the issuing of boledo licenses, to provide full details of the contract. According to Leader of the Opposition John Briceño, Panton has not responded, though the matter is to be tabled to the House. A release states that it is outrageous that this company was awarded a 10-year contract just months before the end of this U.D.P. Administration’s term in office, particularly in light of those persistent suggestions that nepotism was involved in the awarding of this contract. The release states it is critical that there is full disclosure of all the details of the contract and of the beneficial owners of Brads Gaming Group.  The release ends saying that “by its refusal to hand over the documentation requested, including the identities of the persons involved in Brads Gaming Group and the details of the tendering and award process, it seems patently clear that the Government has something to hide.”
