A Santa Elena Resident is Charged for MADISCO Truck Holdup

A forty-one-year-old resident of Santa Elena Town has been arrested and charged for the armed robbery of a MADISCO delivery truck last Tuesday.  Luis Castellanos is accused of stealing an undisclosed sum of money from an employee of the distributor as he reentered the vehicle.  The incident happened outside of Two Ladies Store on George Price Avenue.  Tonight, Castellanos is facing jail time for that offense.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“On July fourteenth, sometime around one p.m., San Ignacio police were called to an area in Santa Elena Town on the George Price Highway where they spoke to the driver of a MADISCO truck who reported to them that shortly before one p.m. he was parked outside of a business place when he was approached by a dark complexion male person who at the time pointed a firearm at him and demanded money.  Fearing for his life, he handed over a bag with an undisclosed amount of money.  Police investigations have led to the arrest and charging of one Luis Castellanos who has been arrested and charged for the crime of robbery.  He is forty-one-years-old and he is of a Santa Elena Town address.”
