A Motorcycle Driver is Flung into the Belize River
An eighteen-year-old motorist is recovering from a mishap that landed him in the Belize River near the Valley of Peace Road on Friday evening. It is unclear whether Guillermo Ical was drinking and driving or speeding when he lost control of the motorcycle. What is known is that he and his motorcycle were flung into the river as he rode in the direction of Valley of Peace. Police say he remains hospitalized.

“On Friday last, sometime late in the evening, Roaring Creek police received information of a person inside the river at a bridge on the Valley of Peace Road whereupon arrival they observed one Guillermo Ical, eighteen-years-old, who seemingly was riding his motorcycle towards Valley of Peace when he lost control and fell in the river. He had since been retrieved where he was transported to the Western Regional Hospital and later to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a stable but serious condition at this time.”
