Latest COVID Patient is a Metal Scrapper

Marvin Manzanero

The latest coronavirus patient is a businessman whose livelihood is scrapping vehicles.  His wife, who is also part of the contact tracing exercise, is a clothing vendor at the San Ignacio market.  Both have informed the Ministry of Health that they have traveled across the country and have had contact with several other persons prior to the diagnosis.  The Director of Health Services says that the mapping exercise will be broadened.

Dr. Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services

“So what do we know?  The preliminary report I have now, because contact tracing, as I said, started yesterday via phone.  The person is asymptomatic, the persons lives at home with his wife.  He has acknowledged, the couple has acknowledged that they have had multiple contacts by virtue of the work he does.  He is into scrapping metal, that’s his business.  He has acknowledged that he travelled across the country over the last, because you have to go back to when he was initially swabbed, the last fourteen days trying to remember where you have been.  He acknowledges that his partner does sell clothes at the market area and times she also runs a taxi.”
