COVID Patient Says They Did Not Illegally Cross the Border

As you heard, the infected family has not been forthcoming with information to officials about their recent travels. That family remains in quarantine in the Orange Walk Multi-purpose Complex and today from within the facility one of the parents spoke out against authorities. According to the mother, her daughters were never caught illegally crossing the border and because they are asymptomatic, she believes that they are not infected by the virus.

Quarantined Person [Translated]

“We have to be here for seven days and symptoms that they say kill the person we haven’t had. My daughters are good, thanks God. It is an injustice that they have done. They did not catch us crossing the border like they wanted to make it look it when it is not so. They arrived at my house looking for my daughters when we were not there. They want to accuse us of something that is not true because they arrived at my house when we were not there. They take my daughters. What can we do? We have to present ourselves.  And this sickness that they say kill persons is not happening because we, as you can see in this video, we are healthy. Nothing is happening. They are doing, I don’t know if it is political or what they want in saying that we are sick but that is not the case.”

“They are considered illegal crossings because the community had reported that they had cross the border and so when the authorities went to look for them they found three minors the three younger children that were first identified. This is the report that I have. They were the only ones at home when they went to pick them up and that is why we had to ask Human Development to intervene and an aunt of the three, because they are minors they could not be extracted from the home and brought to the quarantine facility. Subsequently on Friday the dad and the mom and the other two children were the ones who reported themselves to be Blue Creek police station and then they were escorted to the Quarantine facility and they were seabed and that is how you turn out the other four persons being positive. So I don’t know what she means that they are not sick. It could mean that that they are not symptomatic but they are reactive to SARSCOVID2 so they are infected.”
