Anna’s Store in Independence is Robbed; Named Suspect Being Sought

Joseph Myvett

Meanwhile in Independence Village, ACP Joseph Myvett says that police in that area are looking for a known suspect in a robbery at Anna’s Store in the village. While the robber was not armed, police say that the proprietor was pinned to the ground before he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. It would seem that the robber had a change of clothes because Myvett says that a number of items were discovered in proximity to the scene, which are believed to belong to the perpetrator.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“On Friday last, sometime after 4:30 p.m., Independence police were called to Anna’s Store in Independence Village where the proprietor reported to them that sometime around four p.m., he was inside the store alone when he was approached by a clear complexion male who held him down and demanded money and as a result stole an undisclosed amount of money. No weapon was used; police is seeking a named suspect in relation to this investigation.”

“Sir, there are reports that the suspect may have left behind identification. Is that the case?”

ACP Joseph Myvett
“No, several items were recovered in terms of clothing at a nearby abandoned building.”

“…including identification?”

ACP Joseph Myvett

“I am not going to go into that.”
