Barry Castillo on Bail With Curfew

A man, who allegedly forced his way into the home of an elderly American couple in Seine Bight, then proceeded to beat and rob them, was granted bail today, but on strict conditions that includes a night-time curfew.   Barry Castillo is accused of forcing his way into the home of eighty-year-old Ervin Sverdrup and his wife, seventy-seven year-old Karen Sverdrup on the night of June twenty-eighth and beating them in the head and on the arms with a pipe, then robbing them of cash before fleeing the scene. The incident happened just as Sverdrup had finished walking his dog and was heading inside.  Police allege that Castillo and another man, dressed in dark clothing with hoodies and wearing face coverings and sunshades, were lurking nearby and pounced on the elderly man.  Castillo, who is charged with ‘aggravated burglary, wounding and harm, was granted bail of five thousand dollars with conditions,  including that he  abides by a curfew between the hours of eleven p.m. and five a.m., until his case is complete.  He must return to court on July sixteenth.
