ComPol Acknowledges the Good Deeds of His Officers
In acknowledging the effort of the men and women of law enforcement, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams also highlighted the fact that when officers run afoul of the law, they are also subject to disciplinary and penal measures. Today’s ceremony, though commendable, does not negate the fact that there are rogue officers in the fold.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“It is only right that we reward them for exceptional work because if it were the other way around, that they had done something out of the ordinary, meaning that it really tarnishes the image of the department, they would be facing a tribunal or facing the courts. So the same way how we are quick to punish them when they do wrong, we must also let the officers know that when they do good, we are going to stand behind them, we are going to support them and we are going to give them what is due to them and this is a classic example of that.”
